Sugar Dog Stories – Valencia

Clare’s Sugar Dog VALENCIA is one of those very gifted service animals that alerted spontaneously and her alerts were recognized by her human, a (now retired) registered nurse (RN).

Clare is a retired Registered Nurse (RN)  in California, a Type 2 diabetic who manages her health beautifully.  What an asset to Sugar Dogs International to have nurses in our training program and supporting our efforts!  We love you Clare and Valencia.  What a great team!

Clare doesn’t know this but Paula has black and white tile in her house too.  Is it a coincidence?  There’s also black and white marble in Siena Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral (Kilkenny black fossilized marble with French rouge griotte – called “partridge eyed” due to pearly-white spots on peachy-pink marble), Amiens Cathedral (Northern France), Milan Cathedral, Antwerp Cathedral, and many, many more.  In France in particular, many of the cathedral labyrinths are black and white marble tiles.

Paula says the black and white tiles remind her that every moment is a choice.  Breathe in and breathe out.  SO HUM.  Meditate.  Breathe in and breathe out.  SO HUM.  (“So Hum” is a meditation taught by The Chopra Center for Well Being, used as a mantra “Hum So” is ‘I AM’ in ancient Sanskrit, affirming with our breath, our place on the planet for this moment, this breath in safety, peace and gratitude.)

Clare and Valencia sometimes dress in matching outfits, with matching hair bows and everything.  They charm audiences wherever they go.  Go Sugar Dogs Go!

Valencia is a Rock Star Sugar Dog, certified as a diabetic alert dog & much, much more.  She and her human partner Clare are inseparable.  Wouldn’t it be great to see them in a hospital near you?
